The company will launch the M4 chip-powered MacBook Air as early as March, followed by the M4 upgraded versions of Mac Studio and Mac Pro, expected to launch around the WWDC event (an annual global developer conference organized by Apple) in June.
After WWDC, the transition to the M5 chip will officially begin, with the MacBook Pro updated in the fall of 2025.
In addition to the MacBook Pro, the iPad Pro will also be equipped with the M5 chip, expected in late 2025 or early 2026. Other Mac models such as Mac mini and iMac may receive the M5 upgrade according to the regular release cycle, which is likely to appear before the end of 2025.
With the M5 chip launch roadmap, Apple continues to affirm its strong upgrade strategy for the Mac and iPad ecosystem. The primary focus on the Mac lineup shows that the company is focusing on performance and professional processing capabilities, before expanding to other devices.
Along with that, the WWDC 2025 event promises to be an important milestone, not only revealing hardware improvements but also bringing new steps in Apple's operating system and software technology.
