According to the newly updated leak, Apple will introduce the 8th generation iPad mini equipped with OLED screens as early as the third quarter of 2026.
This information is in line with reports that the iPad mini will switch to OLED technology in 2026.
The leaked source also said that the iPad mini will become the second iPad model to use a OLED screen, after the iPad Pro. Next up will be iPad Air, but the earliest will be until 2027. Currently, OLED technology only appears on the iPad Pro line.
OLED screens allow independent control of each photo point, creating accurate color, high contrast, deep black color, fast response speed, wide viewing and more flexible design compared to other popular display technologies.
The move of OLEDs to popular iPad models such as iPad mini and iPad Air shows that Apple is gradually expanding the technology that is considered a "specialty" of iPad Pro.
However, the schedule also depends on the ability to provide the floor plan and the cost problem, factors that can directly affect the selling price. If the roadmap is right, 2026 - 2027 will be a strong transition period for the iPad ecosystem to OLED, paving the way for major changes in design and image experience on the entire product line.
