More than 240 million iPhones sold globally in 2025

Apple achieved record sales in 2025, with more than 240 million iPhones shipped.

The latest statistics from market research company Omdia show that global smartphone shipments increased by 2% in 2025, reaching 1.25 billion units, marking the highest annual level since 2021.

According to experts, the smartphone market ended the fourth quarter of 2025 with a growth rate of 4% compared to the same period last year, driven by favorable seasonal factors and strong performance from suppliers.

Despite this growth momentum, increased costs for key components and memory at the end of the period have begun to reduce expectations for sales growth in the early 2026 period.

In 2025, Apple achieved its highest annual sales ever when iPhone shipments increased by 7% to 240.6 million units, helping the company maintain its title as the world's largest supplier for the third consecutive year.

Quarterly iPhone sales reaching a record high in the fourth quarter of 2025 boosted the company's performance. In particular, Apple recorded a 26% growth compared to the same period last year in the mainland Chinese market, thanks to stronger demand for the iPhone 17 line.

Samsung has made a significant recovery in 2025 after three consecutive years of annual decline, growing 7% compared to the same period last year and ending the year at a close position behind Apple.

Xiaomi has defended its third position in 2025, despite a more difficult year-end period, with shipments falling 2% due to the weakening of the low-price segment and a sharp decline in the fourth quarter of 2025 in key markets.

Expanding value growth through promoting product portfolios from POCO to the high-end segment and AIoT across the entire retail channel is still the key to success. Meanwhile, Vivo rose to fourth place for the first time, thanks to continuous success in India along with stable performance in the domestic market, growing by 4% to 105.3 million products sold.

Oppo ranked 5th, with shipment volume growing again in the fourth quarter of 2025 after a difficult first half of 2025 with newly launched A6x models. Oppo reached 100.7 million products sold in 2025, down 3% compared to 2024.

With Realme merging with Oppo from 2026, Oppo will gain important advantages in terms of quantity and market, helping the company compete for a higher position in the rankings.

In addition to the top 5 leading smartphone manufacturers in the world, some other companies also recorded positive results. Honor and Lenovo grew by 11% and 6% respectively in 2025 compared to 2024, reaching record highs, thanks to expanding business areas in the context of fierce competition in their core markets.
