Huawei is forecasting 100 million smartphones compatible with 5G-A network technology (also known as 5.5G) by the end of 2025, according to Chinese media.
The Chinese phone maker has shared a roadmap for developing 5.5G. This plan shows that Huawei wants to take advantage of the new wireless network connection with AI (artificial intelligence) and deploy it on its hardware products for the benefit of consumers.
With 100 million 5.5 million smartphone users globally in 2025, Huawei also has its own plans in the Chinese market, where it has a large smartphone market share and the number of 5.5G network users is increasing.
As early as June 2024, Huawei has partnered with major partners, network operators that have deployed the 5.5G network such as China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom of China; HKT of Hong Kong (China); Du network operator of UAE and Omantel of Oman to participate in the program to share their experience and 5G-A deployment strategy.
Last month, Samuel Chen - Vice President of Marketing for wireless network segment of Huawei - gave a speech with the theme "5.5G reshaping the Mobile AI era".
In this important speech, Samuel revealed that AI smartphones are currently posing higher demands on the network and Huawei plans to meet these demands as soon as possible.
To meet these needs, Huaweis wireless solutions continue to increase the integration of 5.5G and AI in five directions: all bandwidth, all coverage, all situations, all digitalization and all artificial intelligence, the operator said.
Huawei also plans to deploy 5.5G network solution. This specific step will help expand the number of 5.5G users through the company's devices.
Mr. Chen predicts that by the end of 2025, more than 120 smartphone models will integrate 5.5G network, including many Huawei models. With careful preparation in advance, Huawei plans to deploy 5.5G network to many of its smartphone models this year.
