Analyst Mark Gurman recently said that Apple will launch iOS 27 at WWDC 2026 this year. However, this event is described as "quite quiet". Although iOS 27 still brings further improvements to Apple Intelligence, software highlights are expected to focus more on improving performance, bug fixes and overall design refinement.
According to Gurman, the most notable new feature at WWDC 2026 is likely to be Siri being more personalized, integrating a chatbot interface, as previously rumored. In addition, Apple's other software platforms will not have many major changes in terms of features.
WWDC 2026 is predicted to be announced by Apple at the end of March and take place in the first week or second week of June. Major software updates introduced at the event will soon be released as beta for developers immediately after the opening speech, before officially reaching users in the fall.
In the context that Apple is under pressure to soon realize its commitments to artificial intelligence, a WWDC focused on perfecting the platform rather than showing off new features is also considered a cautious step.
Prioritizing system stability, performance optimization and gradually upgrading Siri shows that Apple may be choosing to "go slowly but surely", in order to create a premise for bigger changes in software versions in the following years.
