Apple has just released the beta 2 of iOS 26.1, expected to launch officially this month. Notably, the alarm screen is equipped with a Slide to stop option.
Instead of just pressing the big button like before, users now have to swipe to turn off the alarm, the operation reminds them of the Slide to unlock gesture on the old iPhone. This change is said to be to limit the situation where users accidentally turn off their alarm while still sleeping.
Apple also applies the same operation to turning off the timer, although misspots are less likely to happen.
Since it is still in the testing phase, the company may continue to collect feedback before deciding whether to keep or remove this feature in the official release of iOS 26.1.
This small change shows that Apple is listening to user feedback and refining the seemingly simplest details to improve the daily experience.
