According to the latest report from Canalys (a UK-based technology market analysis company), Apple still maintains its leading position in the tablet market with 42.3% of the global market share in the fourth quarter of 2024.
In this quarter, Apple shipped about 16.9 million iPads, increasing significantly compared to 14.8 million units in the same period in 2023.
Apple's latest competitor is Samsung with 7 million tablets sold, accounting for 17.8% of the market share. Lenovo, Huawei and Xiaomi held the next positions.
For the past 2024, Apple has shipped about 57 million iPads, accounting for 38.6% of the global market share. The tablet amount that Apple sells is twice as much as Samsung, when Korean technology firm only reaches sales of 27.8 million products.
In 2024, Apple upgraded the high -end iPad Pro line with the M4 chip, improved the iPad Mini with the A17 Pro chip and equipped with M2 chip for iPad Air.
Entering 2025, Apple is expected to launch the new version of the cheap iPad line and continue to update the iPad Air.
