Full screen design
According to leaked information, the screen glass of the iPhone 20 is designed to be curved on all four edges, hiding the metal frame during normal use, creating a bezel-less effect.
Apple is said to be cooperating with Samsung to develop a "four-sided curved screen with equal depth" to realize this.
Advanced OLED technology
Apple may be planning to use a brighter, thinner OLED panel for the 20th anniversary iPhone. Rumors suggest Apple will apply Samsung's OLED screen with Color Filter on Encapsulation (COE) technology, which helps reduce the thickness of the entire screen layer and allows more light to penetrate to improve brightness while reducing power consumption.
Face ID and camera under the screen
According to sources, Apple is continuing to test hardware to remove Dynamic Island, with Face ID components moved down to the screen and the display screen under the camera is said to be in development.
However, whether this technology will be in time for the launch in the fall of 2027 is still uncertain.
Apple custom image sensor
Apple is said to be developing a separate layered image sensor to replace the Sony sensors that the company often uses for iPhones. This sensor is said to use LOFIC technology, allowing each pixel to store different amounts of light.
New touch buttons
Apple is testing new touch buttons instead of power, volume, action and camera control buttons. These buttons can be integrated directly into the device frame, without physical movement when pressed, but still retain sensitivity.
Chip A21 2 nanometer
The 20th anniversary iPhone models are expected to be equipped with the second-generation 2-nanometer chip. With the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models widely predicted to use the A20 Pro chip, the commemorative models may be equipped with the A21 Pro chip.
Silicon positive solar cell
According to sources, Apple is researching a new battery technology using silicon positive electrodes capable of storing more lithium ions per gram, thereby potentially extending battery life without increasing the physical size of the battery.
High bandwidth memory for mobile devices
There are rumors that Apple is evaluating vertical stacked DRAM technology to improve memory bandwidth and increase AI performance on devices.
Two sizes
This commemorative iPhone model may have a larger screen size than the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Apple is said to be testing a 6.4-inch screen for the iPhone 20 Pro and a 7-inch screen for the larger 20 Pro Max model.
