iPhone Air 2 rumored to have strong upgrades in camera and performance

QUANG MINH |

The second generation iPhone Air is said to have a series of notable upgrades compared to the current version, focusing on camera, performance and connectivity.

According to analyst Jeff Pu, iPhone Air 2 will be equipped with a 48 MP dual rear camera, adding a super wide-angle lens (Ultra Wide). This is considered one of the biggest changes in the Air line, making the device more flexible in photography capabilities.

In addition, the device is said to have a smaller Dynamic Island, bringing a wider display space on the screen.

In terms of performance, iPhone Air 2 is likely to use the A20 Pro chip manufactured on TSMC's advanced 2nm process.

Compared to the 3nm A19 Pro chip on the current iPhone Air, the new chip is expected to bring higher performance and better energy saving.

Apple is also expected to equip the second generation N2 wireless network chip. On the current iPhone Air model, the N1 chip developed by Apple itself supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, while improving performance as well as the stability of features such as AirDrop and Personal Access Points. In addition, the new generation 5G C2 modem is also expected to replace the C1X modem, continuing to improve energy efficiency.

Despite many internal changes, Jeff Pu believes that iPhone Air 2 will still retain the 6.5-inch screen, 12 GB of RAM and 18 MP front camera supporting Center Stage.

According to forecasts, Apple will introduce the iPhone Air 2 along with the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e around March 2027. Meanwhile, high-end models including the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and the folding screen iPhone model are expected to be launched sooner, in September 2026, in line with the multi-stage iPhone release strategy that Apple is said to be preparing to apply.
