The task of building new multi-purpose anti-submarine frigates for the Navy is organized and implemented by Song Thu Corporation, the General Department of National Defense Industry in coordination with the Navy and the Ministry of National Defense.
This is the largest and most modern warship ever built by Vietnam. The ship is a product of Vietnam's own design, construction and mastery of most of the weapons and equipment installed on the ship.
The project is identified as an important milestone for the domestic military shipbuilding capacity. The project implementation demonstrates the research, design, manufacturing and integration capacity of weapons and equipment systems of cadres, engineers, and workers of the Vietnamese military shipbuilding industry.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam, Deputy Minister of National Defense, said that the selection of Song Thu Corporation to build new key warships is a great honor for the unit. This is also an affirmation of the capacity, prestige and brand of Song Thu Corporation in the military shipbuilding industry and the domestic shipbuilding industry.
Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam requested agencies and units to identify this as a key political task. Units must focus resources and closely coordinate to ensure progress, quality and technical requirements.
The Military Industry - Telecommunications Group and units researching, producing, manufacturing and installing equipment, weapons, and weapons are required to coordinate with the Navy and Song Thu Corporation in the implementation process.
Units need to accelerate research, manufacture, and complete procedures to be eligible to install equipment on ships. The implementation must ensure quality, legality and synchronization with the construction progress.
Agencies under the Ministry of National Defense are required to strengthen guidance, direction and promptly propose plans to remove difficulties and arising issues, ensuring the construction of new ships according to the approved plan.
