Meta to pilot video advertising on Threads

Meta has just announced that it will be piloting video advertising on Threads.

Threads has been testing ads since the beginning of this year and Meta is accelerating its efforts to make money on the platform. At the IAB NewFronts event where social media recently reached advertisers, Meta announced that it will pilot video advertising on Threads.

Accordingly, a small number of advertisers will be allowed to participate in testing video advertising models at a scale of 19:10 or 1:1, inserted between regular posts in the user's bulletin board. Meta did not disclose the specific scale of the test.

In addition, Meta is also developing a new advertising format for Instagram Reels, called Reels trending ads. These ads will be displayed next to prominent Reels videos and attract the most views on the platform.

Some opinions say that Meta is continuing the roadmap it used to with Facebook, gradually increasing advertising on its social networking platforms, which could reduce the pure interactive experience between users.
