Meta is testing a notable upgrade for Threads on the web, after a long period of being seen as "inferior" to mobile applications. The new interface is introduced with many changes to improve navigation capabilities and add missing features.
The most notable point is that Threads on the web for the first time has a direct message box - a feature that has appeared on the application since June last year but never before on the browser. This makes the experience between the web and mobile more consistent.
In addition, the new interface adds a series of shortcuts on the left sidebar such as saved posts, statistics, activities and the ability to switch between content sources. Previously, these features still existed but were difficult to access, for example, to view statistics, users had to go to their personal page or insert a separate column.
It is not yet clear when it will be officially deployed, but Meta said it has started testing and will continue to invest more heavily in the web version. The most recent major update of Threads web took place in April last year, mainly adding basic functions, while most of the subsequent improvements focused on the application.
