According to data from the application data analysis platform Appfigures, in just one day after Muse Spark was launched, the Meta AI application increased from 57th to 5th position on the US App Store.
This is a rare growth rate, showing that user demand for new AI tools is booming strongly.
Another report from Sensor Tower also recorded a significant increase in downloads. Specifically, on April 8, 2026, the Meta AI application reached about 46,000 downloads on iOS in the US, an increase of 87% compared to the previous day. Meanwhile, on Android, the increase was more modest, only about 3%.
Muse Spark is the first product developed under the leadership of Alexandr Wang, head of Meta's Hyperintelligence Lab.
Mr. Wang was recruited by Meta from Scale AI to restructure the group's AI strategy in the context of increasingly fierce competition.
According to Meta, Muse Spark is a significant upgrade compared to previous Llama 4 models. This model supports multi-mode input, including text, voice and images, and can handle many complex tasks.
Users can take advantage of Muse Spark to learn health information, solve scientific problems, or even build simple websites and games through intuitive programming.
A notable point is the ability to operate multiple sub-agents, helping to handle complex requests step by step. This helps improve accuracy and efficiency when solving multi-layered questions.
Not stopping at independent applications, Meta said that Muse Spark will soon be integrated into the company's vast ecosystem, including WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, Messenger and even AI glasses.
Along with that, the user interface of the application and the web platform are also refreshed, allowing flexible switching between usage modes.
Despite making significant progress, Meta AI is still behind in the chatbot race. On the US App Store, the leading positions currently belong to ChatGPT of OpenAI, Claude of Anthropic and Gemini of Google.
Sharing on social network X, Mr. Alexandr Wang admitted that the current achievement is just the beginning and the application is still developing. This shows that Meta will continue to invest heavily to narrow the gap with competitors.
In the context that Meta has spent billions of USD on recruiting talent and investing in Scale AI, Muse Spark can be seen as a strategic step to strengthen the company's position in the global AI race – where innovation speed and user experience are deciding the game.
