After a period of being judged as lacking in breakthroughs, Apple is expected to launch a series of new devices with completely different designs and technologies, to refresh its product ecosystem.
The first highlight of this renovation phase is the first foldable iPhone model, expected to launch in late 2026 along with the iPhone 18 series. This phone is expected to be different from existing folding models on the market such as the Galaxy Z Fold 6, with a non-stunted design and a sturdy titanium frame. This will be a product in the high-end segment, with a price not low at all.
Following the foldable iPhone, Apple will introduce a special iPhone model to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this product line. Although there is not much specific information yet, Mr. Gurman described this as an iPhone model that will be almost completely made of glass, curved screen and have no defects, showing a completely new design compared to previous generations.
In addition to the iPhone, Apple is also developing many devices that apply Apple Intelligence artificial intelligence technology. One of them is Meta's smart glasses, which compete directly with Meta's Ray-Ban glasses, expected to launch in 2027. The glasses will be equipped with a new silicon chip, integrated with a camera, speaker and micro to identify the surrounding environment. Features like Visual Intelligence from the iPhone will also be integrated.
In addition, new AirPods and Apple Watch models will also be equipped with cameras, expanding the capabilities of Visual Intelligence technology to more devices. Siri, a virtual assistant that has been criticized for lack of intelligence, will also be completely renewed with large language models (LLM) and AI chips using Apple Silicon. Siri's new dialogue interface will appear on iOS 20, after being delayed from iOS 19.
Finally, Apple is researching new robotics products, with the first product being aresort with a robotic arm and AI assistant with its own personality. The device will work with a small smart home control center which has been delayed many times but will be deployed before 2027.
While the specific timing may change, Apple is clearly planning a new wave of groundbreaking products by 2027.
