Recently, a 3D image shared by Jon Prosser revealed the new design of the camera cluster on the iPhone 17 Pro version. In a new video on Front page Tech, Prosser introduced the build-up based on information from close sources.
Contrary to some previous predictions, he said the three lenses on the back of the iPhone 17 Pro will not change. However, instead of the familiar square camera cluster, the iPhone 17 Pro will likely have a wide-brimmed camera cluster.
This new design changes the way the components are arranged on the back. Three lenses are still on the left side, while LED flashlights, microphones and LiDAR sensors will be placed on the right side. Some previous rumors suggest that the three lenses will be arranged in a row, but the latest images show that they will still hold the same position as on current iPhone Pro models.
In addition to the iPhone 17 Pro, a recent leak also revealed the back of the iPhone 17 Air model with a camera bar running from side to side of the device. This raises speculation that Apple may be testing a major change in the camera design of the upcoming iPhone series.
Prosser also denied previous rumors that the iPhone 17 Pro has a two-color back. According to him, this device will still have a uniform color, but the camera bar will have a darker color than the rest. Another noteworthy piece of news is that the iPhone 17 Pro could be lighter than current versions.
Although prosser has shared a lot of accurate information about Apple products in the past, not all of his predictions are correct. Some of his previous builds of Mac mini or iPhone 14 have not become a reality. Therefore, leaked information still needs to be further verified.
Regardless of which direction the final camera design of the iPhone 17 Pro will go - keeping the current layout or switching to a wide camera bar, there is still no guarantee. It may be necessary to wait a little longer before images of accessories such as the back of the iPhone 17 appear for a clearer view.
