Recently, a report from Sammobile news site revealed that Samsung may be ready to equip One UI 8 for next-generation foldable devices including Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 as soon as it is launched. These two models are expected to be revealed this summer, when it coincides with the annual schedule of Samsung's folding products.
Previously, there were some leaks surrounding Fold 7 and Flip 7, revealing small improvements in design and performance. However, the most notable point is that the duo will run One UI 8 on Android 16 right from the launch - something that has never happened before.
This move is entirely feasible given Google's expected official release of Android 16 for the Pixel series in June or July.
If Samsung maintains its tradition of holding the Unpacked event right after that time, it is very likely that the Fold 7 and Flip 7 will be the first devices of the company to "upgrade" the latest software.
One UI 8 is expected to fully integrate the major changes that Google brings to Android 16. However, whether Samsung will add exclusive features for folding devices is still a question mark.
