Samsung has just announced a new Galaxy A-series phone line, including the Galaxy A56, A36 and A26, focusing on improving artificial intelligence (AI) to bring smarter image editing features. This is the first time that mid-range devices in the company's mid-range segment have been equipped with AI technologies previously only available on the Galaxy S25 high-end line.
One of the notable features is Best Face, a feature that allows changing the facial expressions of up to 5 people in a moving photo to overcome blinking or looking in the wrong direction.
This feature is similar to Google Pixel's Best Take and was introduced on the Galaxy S25 in January this year. In addition, Samsung also improved the object Delegation and Photo filtering tools, while integrating Google's Circle to Search feature, which helps search for information by rounding up content right on the screen.
In terms of design, the Galaxy A56, A36, and A26 have some minor changes such as the rear equatorial camera cluster. All three models use a 6.7-inch Full HD+ screen with a scanning frequency of up to 120Hz, larger than the previous generation.
The Galaxy A56 is equipped with a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 5MP macro camera. The front camera has a resolution of 12MP, lower than the Galaxy A55's 32MP Self- detour camera.
Inside, the Galaxy A56 uses a new Exynos 1580 chip, while the A36 is powered by the previous generation Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. All models have a 5,000 mAh battery, but only the A56 and A36 support 45W fast charging and super-fast charging technology 2.0, providing faster charging capability, prolonging the device's usage time.
Notably, Samsung has equipped the Galaxy A26 with IP67 dust and water resistance for the first time, giving the device better durability.
All three models will run Android 15 at the factory and will receive an operating system and security update within six years. Samsung said the Galaxy A56 will cost $499 and will launch later this year.
