Just days before the Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung announced that it would integrate Perplexity into upcoming high-end devices, marking a new step in the company's AI multi-assistant strategy.
According to the announcement, Perplexity's AI agent will work with many system applications such as Samsung Notes, Watches, Library, Job Reminder and Calendar. Some third-party applications will also be supported, but Samsung has not announced a specific list.
It is likely that the company will share more details about this integration method as well as its role in the upgraded Bixby version at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event.
Samsung also said that the expansion of Galaxy AI aims to bring more choices and flexibility to users when handling work. Accordingly, Galaxy AI plays a coordinating role, combining many forms of artificial intelligence into a unified, natural and seamless experience.
Previously, Samsung announced a partnership with Perplexity to integrate its AI search engine into Samsung TVs.
