Nexon Co., one of the leading online game groups in Korea, has just officially launched and opened a registration portal for the Nexon Young Programmers Cup (NYPC) 2026 competition. This is a strategic programming playground with breakthroughs thanks to the support of artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
Launched in 2016, NYPC has long been a symbolic tournament in programming, creating Nexon's brand. Stepping into this year, the competition marks a strong transformation when comprehensively changing the format: from traditional algorithms to generative AI application strategy programming. Here, contestants will directly exploit the power of AI to build tactics, solve challenges and dramatically confront each other. This year's playground comprehensively supports 12 popular programming languages, including C, C++, Python and Java.
In particular, NYPC 2026 also marks a historical milestone when it officially transforms into a global tournament, in which Vietnam is honored to be chosen as the first international destination. Vietnamese young talents will directly compete in the Master Track qualifiers, a arena designed specifically for university students. The teams will enter breathtaking battles between AI agents, where the ability to predict situations, respond flexibly and neutralize opponent tactics is put first.
The journey to conquer the NYPC 2026 title will go through two stages: Online Preliminary Round and Live Final Round. The Preliminary Round takes place from June 29 to July 8, allowing contestants to proactively solve questions at any time in the prescribed time. The best representatives who pass this round will receive a golden ticket to advance straight to the Final Round in Korea. All costs from round-trip air tickets, accommodation services to related travel expenses are fully sponsored by the organizers. Not stopping there, the champion of the tournament will receive valuable cash prizes, accompanied by a special opportunity to participate in an attractive practical experience internship program at Nexon Group.
To bring the tournament closer to the domestic technology community, Nexon will closely coordinate with Nexon Dev Vina (NDVN), a subsidiary specializing in development of the group in Vietnam. The organizers will deploy widespread promotion activities at leading technical and technology universities, and continuously update all information, regulations and registration instructions through official media channels on Facebook and Zalo.
Mr. Kim Jung-wook - Chairman of Nexon affirmed: "NYPC's 10-year journey is associated with the mission of laying the foundation and raising the level of programming education in Korea. Stepping into the new chapter, we expect to spread this inspiration to young people passionate about technology globally. We hope NYPC 2026 will become an ideal launching pad, bringing breakthrough challenges and successful experiences for future developers in the AI era.
The NYPC 2026 registration portal has officially opened on the program's website. Immediately after completing account creation and registration, contestants can access the system to test and practice skills with sample math problems from the organizers.
