Spotify has just launched the User Notes feature, allowing users to add personal notes for each song in their created playlists.
Users can record memories associated with a song, share stories about the person who introduced the song, or write messages for the playlist recipient.
This feature gives a feeling like notes on cassette tapes or self-selected CDs before, but in a modern form.
User Notes are provided to users aged 16 and over, applicable to both free and paid accounts, but are currently only deployed in some markets.
Notes will be displayed to anyone who has the right to view playlists. Therefore, users should check the privacy settings before sharing playlists.
To add notes, users just need to tap the three-dot icon next to the song in the playlist and select "Add note".
This move continues to show that Spotify is expanding interactive and personalized features, not only relying on suggestion algorithms but also creating conditions for users to preserve stories, emotions and memories associated with each song in their playlist.
