Apple released the first beta of iOS 18.5 on April 2, followed by a second beta on April 14 and a third beta on April 21. Based on previous years' release dates, iOS 18.5 is likely to be officially released in the third week of May.
Unlike other major updates, iOS 18.5 focuses primarily on fixing errors and improving system performance. However, Apple still makes some small but useful adjustments in the Mail app.
Users can now easily turn off the contact photo display right in the Mail app, by clicking on the three-dots icon in the upper right corner and turning off the "Show contact photos" option. Previously, users had to access the Settings application to make this change.
In addition, the All Mail mode in Mail is also clarified. If this mode was previously hidden next to other items and needed to create a search, Apple has now turned it into a separate tab, making it easy for users to recognize and access.
Another change from the Settings app, AppleCare information is now more prominent, allowing users to quickly check their device's warranty status.
After iOS 18.5, Apple is expected to start testing the iOS 18.6 beta in May, which is also a small update. However, the most anticipated focus is iOS 19 - the next version that Apple will officially introduce at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) opening on June 9.
