According to The Information, Amazon has signed new agreements that allow users to shop without leaving TikTok or Pinterest.
Users can purchase products from Amazon advertisements appearing on both platforms. Instead of having to click on the advertisement and switch to the Amazon interface, this agreement allows users to pay directly within TikTok or Pinterest, using their stored payment method and shipping address on their Amazon account.
The Information states that they have seen screenshots of the advertisements, which provide more information than usual, including product prices, estimated delivery times, and whether they are eligible for delivery.
Please note that users need to link their social media accounts to their Amazon account before they can shop seamlessly from within the applications.
Amazon's representative confirmed with the newspaper that, "shopping within the app with Amazon is available for products advertised on TikTok and sold by Amazon or independent sellers on Amazon's store".
Amazon's new agreements are reportedly expanding on previous agreements with Meta and Snap. The previous agreements allowed Snapchat and Instagram users to shop directly from within their applications.
However, The Information notes that it is unclear why TikTok is participating in the agreement when the platform is attempting to develop its own shopping system.
