In a recent blog post, Microsoft said it is developing more taskbar customization options, including the ability to place this bar at the top or along both sides of the screen, similar to the familiar operation on Windows 10.
This information quickly attracted attention, because since Windows 11 was launched, the inability to move the taskbar has become one of the most criticized points.
With the new update, users can simply operate by right-clicking on the taskbar and selecting the desired location, a method that is already familiar from previous versions.
A video leaked on social media, which was later deleted, also shows that Microsoft is testing this feature.
Accordingly, the taskbar can flexibly move around the screen, bringing a higher personalized experience.
However, it is likely that the feature will be deeply integrated into the Settings instead of just stopping at quick operations.
Not only stopping at the position, Microsoft is also researching the possibility of shrinking the taskbar. Currently, although the icon can be reduced in size, the space occupied by this bar remains the same, causing waste of display area.
If improved, this will be a significant change for users who like a neat interface.
Besides the taskbar, Microsoft also said they are upgrading other elements on Windows 11. Specifically, users will have more controls with widgets (which are small interface components that quickly display information or provide basic functions right on the screen) and discovery content feeds, helping to personalize the experience better.
In addition, the company is also handling existing problems on File Explorer, one of the annoying errors that has lasted for a long time.
Although there is no official release date yet, these changes show that Microsoft is listening to feedback from the community and gradually perfecting Windows 11.
