Kids can use Google Wallet to pay on Android

Anh Vũ |

Google lets kids pay easily and securely with parental controls.

From 2025, children using Android will be able to use Google Wallet with “tap-to-pay” payment feature for purchases but need parental approval.

The new feature builds on the success of the Fitbit Ace LTE smartwatch line and allows parents to manage it through the Family Link app, helping to track and authenticate transactions.

Security methods such as fingerprint, facial recognition or password will be used to approve payments, increasing safety.

The service also supports gift cards and event tickets, but not ID or health cards.

Google Wallet for Kids is Google's answer to payments features within the Apple ecosystem, which already supports payments on Apple Pay for kids.

The feature is planned to start in select markets like the US, and then expand to other countries.
