In recent days, after reading information about some subscribers being temporarily suspended from one-way service due to not completing authentication, Ms. Minh Hue (Hanoi) decided to open the VNeID application to re-check the phone numbers that are in her name.
I thought that my SIM had been used for many years, so I didn't need to do anything more. When I saw someone being locked and called, I checked to see if there was any number in my name that had not been confirmed," Ms. Hue shared.
According to Ms. Hue, before that, she had received some messages from network operators but did not pay attention because she thought they were normal notifications.
Mr. Tran Minh (Hung Yen) said that he only started to learn about the regulation when he saw many people mentioning the June 15th milestone.
I am most worried that there is a phone number in my name but I don't know. Therefore, I take advantage of checking early to avoid causing trouble later," Mr. Minh said.
Not all subscribers have to confirm
According to the Telecommunications Authority (Ministry of Science and Technology), the verification on VNeID aims to help people know all phone numbers that are in their name, thereby confirming the numbers they are using and detecting numbers that are not under control.
This does not mean that all users have to perform the same procedures. If the subscriber has been confirmed and the information is complete, users can still use it normally.
Meanwhile, cases where status has not been confirmed or the subscriber number is not found to be eligible for use need to carry out the confirmation steps according to the instructions on VNeID.
How to check for subscribers who are in your name
To check, users can access the VNeID application and view the list of phone numbers that have been synchronized to the system.
Here, people can:
- Confirm the phone numbers being used.
- Detect numbers not under their jurisdiction.
- Check the confirmation status of each subscriber.
According to the Telecommunications Authority, people's proactive confirmation has helped telecommunications businesses review and handle about 1.6 million numbers confirmed not to be used by their owners.
