Expanding connections with countries in the region and around the world
Over the past 8 years, ADC is the largest and newest submarine optical cable system to be put into operation, connecting East Asia and Southeast Asia with a total submarine cable length of nearly 10,000km. The ADC cable connects to landing stations in countries along the cable route, including Japan, China, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam (in Quy Nhon, Binh Dinh).
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Pham Trung Kien - Deputy General Director of Viettel Solutions - said that the ADC cable line is the cable line with the largest capacity in Vietnam (twice as high as the current largest cable line, AAE-1). The ADC submarine cable line will be a powerful assistant, sharing the load with other lines, thereby contributing to improving network safety, national information security as well as improving the quality of telecommunications services provided by Viettel to customers. The ADC cable line will contribute to promoting the digital transformation process in Vietnam.
“The ADC fiber optic cable will help improve Vietnam’s internet connectivity with other regions in Asia and the world. This will facilitate Vietnamese businesses to expand their markets and cooperate internationally. With high-density wavelength division multiplexing technology and an initial total capacity of over 160 Tbps, ADC will provide the necessary infrastructure for technology companies, innovative startups and cloud services, thereby promoting the development of the information technology industry in Vietnam,” said Mr. Pham Trung Kien.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thuong Lang - economic expert - ADC coming into operation will help expand the transmission capacity and IT infrastructure system of Vietnam, help the digital transformation process take place faster, increase the ability to be self-sufficient in fiber optic technology of Vietnam. Create opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises to develop and apply new technology.
“ADC fiber optic cable will help improve connectivity
Vietnam's Internet with other regions in Asia and the world. Faster fiber optic cables will help improve the speed and reliability of online transactions, thereby encouraging consumers to shop more online and creating conditions for e-commerce businesses to develop. ADC will also promote digital transformation in other areas such as education, healthcare, finance, etc., contributing to improving operational efficiency and service quality. In particular, the appearance of ADC can attract foreign investors to Vietnam's technology infrastructure sector" - Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thuong Lang shared.
Well prepared infrastructure and human resources for effective exploitation
The ADC cable line has 9 investors who have jointly built and deployed it. They are Softbank (Japan), three Chinese network operators China Telecom Global, China Telecom
Corporation, China Unicom, Singtel (Singapore), TATA Communications (India), National Telecom (Thailand), PLDT (Philippines) and Vietnam's Viettel and contractor NEC.
A representative of Viettel Solutions shared with Lao Dong that Viettel is one of the 9 founding members of the system from the project ideation stage, survey design and cable deployment. After the cable line is put into operation, Viettel will continue to play the role of project manager to ensure the cable line operates safely and sustainably.
“Viettel has prepared its transmission infrastructure to transmit high-speed bandwidth. This not only ensures the ability to quickly respond to the increasing demand for internet access capacity and speed, but also helps Viettel synchronize its domestic infrastructure with the latest technologies of the ADC cable system. Thanks to that, Viettel improves its competitiveness in the telecommunications market, better meeting the requirements of users and businesses in the digital age,” said a Viettel representative.
Along with the currently exploited submarine cable lines TGN-IA, AAG, APG, AAE-1, ADC submarine cable will be a powerful assistant, sharing the load with other lines, thereby contributing to improving network safety, national information security as well as improving the quality of Viettel's telecommunications services provided to customers.
