VNG Group Joint Stock Company has just announced its business results for the second quarter of 2026 with consolidated net revenue reaching VND 3,087 billion, up 26% over the same period. After-tax profit recorded VND 467 billion, a sharp increase compared to VND 15 billion in the same period.
The online game segment recorded a total booking of 2,359 billion VND, an increase of 22% compared to the same period, with nearly 62 million active users every quarter. Zalo and AI (artificial intelligence) are another bright spot of VNG when reaching revenue of 639 billion VND, a strong increase of 63% compared to the same period.
Zalo maintains a scale of 81.3 million monthly users and records more than 2.2 billion messages sent every day. AI continues to be widely applied on the platform. About 24 million people, equivalent to nearly one-third of Zalo's monthly users, are using AI-integrated messaging and voice calling features every month.
The payment and financial platform Zalopay recorded revenue in the quarter of 241 billion VND, a sharp increase of 90% compared to the same period, with financial service revenue alone increasing by 456%, accounting for an increasing proportion in the overall revenue structure.
However, not every business segment of VNG is profitable in the second quarter of this year. GreenNode - a unit specializing in providing AI cloud infrastructure (AI Cloud) and the company's high-performance artificial intelligence platform recorded revenue of VND 144 billion, down 17% compared to the same period last year.
This result reflects the company's intentional shift strategy from traditional services to a higher value-added AI infrastructure.
Previously, in December 2025, VNG Cloud and GreenNode officially merged under the GreenNode brand, marking an important restructuring step in VNG's "AI-first" strategy. As NVIDIA's official cloud partner, GreenNode currently serves more than 1,000 corporate customers, focusing on the BFSI industry (banking, finance and insurance) across Vietnam, Southeast Asia, and the United States.
According to shares from VNG, financial indicators in the second quarter of this year help the unit closely follow the 2026 business plan and the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders approved, with a net revenue target of 12,500 to 13,500 billion VND, an increase of 15 to 25% compared to the same period and a profit target for the whole year for the first time since VNZ shares traded on the UPCoM exchange.
