VTIS 2024: Opening the gateway to emerging technology markets

Thạch Lam |

To seize the opportunity, what do investors and businesses need to do to enter the emerging technology market? The answer will be found at Vietnam Tech Impact Summit 2024.

In the technology era, products such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, big data, and virtual reality technology are participating more deeply and reshaping every field from healthcare, education, retail to complex operations such as finance, banking, securities, and insurance.

According to Forrester's most recent report, the value of the global technology market has surpassed the $1 trillion threshold, forecast to reach $2 trillion by 2028.

Faced with this trend, startups, large corporations and investors around the world are racing day and night with relentless efforts to seize opportunities from the technological revolution. With a stormy development speed, changing every moment, this field not only creates trillions of USD in value but also changes the way people approach and opens up new exploitation potential of today's society.

For example, financial technology (fintech) has emerged as one of the fastest growing and most valuable sectors, with a market value forecast to soon reach $1 trillion. In Vietnam, the fintech market is booming with a forecast value of nearly $42 billion by 2029, equivalent to an average annual growth rate of 20.23%.

However, the potential of technology development does not stop there when the Government identifies this as one of the key areas contributing to socio-economic development. Most recently, on October 24, 2024, the Prime Minister signed a decision to promulgate the national strategy on the application and development of blockchain technology until 2025, with a vision to 2030.

Previously, in April 2024, the Ministry of Science and Technology proposed that the Government approve the National Strategy on research, development and application of artificial intelligence (AI) to 2030 to make Vietnam one of the bright spots in AI.

If you follow, you can see that recently Vietnam is often the destination of global technology corporation owners such as Apple CEO Tim Cook, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang... The space from the global market as well as the potential for domestic applications is creating a "promised land" for Vietnamese businesses and investors participating in the technology field.
