Artichoke tea
Artichokes have long been considered the "medicine" for the liver thanks to their content of cynarin and silymarin, two active ingredients that can protect liver cells, increase bile production and promote detoxification.
According to a study published in the Journal of Functional Foods, artichoke extract helps reduce ALT and AST liver enzymes in people with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), while improving blood lipid index.
The World Health Organization (WHO) also includes artichokes in the list of foods that are beneficial for the liver.
How to use: Drink artichoke tea from 200-300ml per day, can be used hot or cold. Avoid adding sugar to avoid affecting blood sugar and blood lipid levels.
Corn silk water
Corn silk contains flavonoids, vitamin K, fiber and minerals such as potassium, which help increase the excretion of toxins through urine, support kidney cleansing and reduce edema.
According to the National Kidney Foundation, corn silk water has a natural diuretic effect, while reducing mild inflammation in the urinary system.
In particular, for people at risk of kidney stones or poor kidney filtering function, corn silk water is a healthy choice.
How to use: Boil fresh corn silk with water for 15-20 minutes, let cool and drink throughout the day. Do not drink more than 1 liter/day to avoid electrolyte imbalance.
Roasted black bean tea
Black beans are rich in anthocyanin, a powerful antioxidant that can protect liver cells and fight inflammation. Roasted black bean tea is considered a drink that both cooles the liver and supports excretion through the kidneys.
Research published in Nutrition Reviews shows that polyphenols in black beans help reduce liver damage caused by oxidative stress, while supporting the stability of blood pressure and blood sugar, two factors affecting kidney health.
How to use: Roast black beans until fragrant and boil water to drink daily, can drink hot or let cool, avoid adding sugar.
Dilute lemon juice
Vitamin C in lemon helps increase liver enzymes, fight oxidation and support detoxification. At the same time, citric acid also helps prevent kidney stones by increasing the excretion of citrate in urine.
Drinking diluted lemon water in the morning helps activate the digestive system, reduce toxins accumulated in the liver and promote more effective kidney function.
How to use: Mix half a lemon with 300-500ml of warm water, drink in the morning or between meals. Avoid drinking on an empty stomach if you have stomach problems.
