Vegetables rich in calcium, have the effect of supporting lowering blood pressure

One of the positive effects of amaranth is its ability to supplement calcium and help lower blood pressure.

Amaranth and calcium supplementation value

According to a study published in the Journal of Food Chemistry, amaranth contains a significant amount of calcium. 100 grams of fresh amaranth can provide between 200 and 300 mg of calcium - an amount that can effectively supplement the diet of people who are calcium deficient, especially for those who are vegetarian or do not consume many dairy products.

Amaranth also contains compounds that can support calcium absorption in the body, thanks to its vitamin K and magnesium content. Vitamin K plays an important role in activating proteins necessary for bone mineralization, making bones stronger. Therefore, amaranth not only provides calcium but also supports the body in using calcium effectively.

Amaranth and blood pressure lowering support

In addition to its ability to supplement calcium, amaranth also has the effect of lowering blood pressure thanks to its potassium and antioxidant content. Potassium is an important mineral that helps regulate blood pressure by reducing the effects of sodium, helping the kidneys excrete sodium from the body and dilating blood vessels. Amaranth with its high potassium content can help maintain stable blood pressure, especially for people at high risk of blood pressure diseases such as hypertension.

A study published in the Journal of Hypertension found that a diet rich in green leafy vegetables, including amaranth, may help lower blood pressure in people with hypertension. The antioxidants in amaranth, such as flavonoids and carotenoids, also help protect blood vessels from damage, reduce inflammation, and help keep blood pressure more stable.
