Exercise regularly
Daily exercise can bring benefits to the mind, body and soul. You should combine 2 main forms of exercise: cardio and strength training. You can walk 30 minutes most days of the week. Regular physical activity helps reduce the risk of many types of cancer such as breast cancer, colon cancer, endometriosis cancer and prostate cancer.
Exercise also reduces chronic inflammation, improves insulin sensitivity, and enhances immune monitoring.
Optimizing your lifestyle with healthy habits
Practicing healthy habits should not stop at exercise. Lifestyle factors such as diet, alcohol use and sleep should also be of concern. These factors regulate important biometric pathways that promote or inhibit the process of causing cancer.
A diet rich in processed foods, added sugars and saturated fats promotes insulin resistance and oxidative stress. In contrast, a diet rich in fiber, phytonutrients, and healthy fats reduces systemic inflammation and improves the diversity of the gut microbiome. This is related to immune health and cancer prevention.
You should adopt a plant-based diet rich in omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, antioxidants and polyphenols. In addition, you should limit your alcohol consumption because it can disrupt hormones and increase the risk of certain cancers.
Chronic sleep problems will disrupt the regulation of circadian rhythms, increasing the risk of cancer. So, make sure your sleeping space is cool and dark and limit the use of blue light before bed for quality sleep.
