In the days leading up to Binh Ngo Tet 2026, the output accepted through the Vietnam Post system recorded a growth rate of 25-30% compared to normal days of the last months of the year and an increase of about 10-15% compared to the same period last year. On peak days, the postal output of the entire network reached nearly 1,000,000 invoices/day. This growth rate reflects the demand for consumption and shopping during Tet, and also puts great pressure on the organization of exploitation, transportation and postal delivery.
To ensure smooth cargo handling, Vietnam Post has implemented operating plans throughout the network, organized 24/7 operation monitoring, and strictly controlled cargo flow at the exploitation, distribution, and transportation stages to promptly coordinate and handle arising issues.

With the principle of distributing all goods during shifts and during days, units have proactively arranged and strengthened distribution forces and reasonable postmen for each distribution route, organizing out-of-office delivery, especially in areas with large postal output to ensure that goods are delivered accurately and safely to recipients in the earliest time.
For goods return activities, mails sent to the Post Office before February 15, 2026 (December 28th of the lunar calendar) will be delivered to recipients by Vietnam Post before Lunar New Year, no later than 12 noon on February 16, 2026 (December 29th of the lunar calendar).
According to the plan, central transaction post offices will open to serve people and businesses until the end of February 15, 2026 (December 28th of the lunar calendar) and reopen from February 19, 2026 (the 3rd day of Tet). Based on the actual amount of mail sent, units proactively schedule the opening and closing hours of the post office to be appropriate, ensuring maximum service for customer needs. Other transaction post offices, based on the actual situation, customs and habits of each specific area, will publicly announce the opening time, arrange the number of transaction staff in the direction of optimizing customer service efficiency.
For international delivery services, air and ship mail routes will temporarily suspend operations according to the working schedule of the Customs authority, from February 14, 2026 to the end of February 22, 2026. Therefore, international mail during this time may be slower than the announced overall time target.
In addition, Vietnam Post will strengthen the inspection of packages when delivering and receiving between departments, comparing mail in mail trips to improve quality control, ensuring accuracy at each exploitation and selection stage. At the same time, provincial/city Post Offices will monitor goods traffic, adjust human resources and production plans appropriately to optimize output and delivery with mail carriers.
Vietnam Post noted that people and customers should proactively send goods and gifts in the earliest time, especially for recipient addresses that are agencies, businesses, organizations, schools, industrial parks... to be issued in time before the holidays. To meet the demand for urgent delivery of goods, high-value goods and postal items that need to prioritize full processing time during the Tet peak period, customers can choose EMS express delivery service. For specialized goods, liquid goods, fragile items, goods with short shelf life, customers need to discuss carefully with Post staff to be advised on packaging methods, time and transportation options.
