On February 6, Gia Lai Provincial Police held a press conference to announce information about a property robbery that caused public uproar in Hoi Phu ward, Gia Lai province.
According to the police agency, the tricks of the group of subjects are considered very sophisticated. The two subjects often travel by motorbike through deserted alleys, especially roads without surveillance cameras, causing many difficulties for the investigation work.

Notably, subject Pham Thanh Tai, after committing the crime, always carried more than 4 guns and dozens of bullets in his backpack. These guns were all ready to be loaded to resist when necessary.
To hide traces and mislead the chasing force, the subjects used a total of 4 motorbikes, then successively buried and disposed of them at many different locations, about 7-8 km from the scene. After burying the first motorbike near Dien Phu Industrial Park, the subjects continued to move to Bien Ho area by another motorbike and threw this vehicle into the lake.
Next, they swam across the lake, to the fields of ethnic minorities, disguised as going to work in the fields to deceive people and functional forces. After that, Pham Thanh Tai and Le Van An used two motorbikes they had prepared to move towards Kon Tum province.
After committing the crime, Pham Thanh Tai continued to move through many localities, to Ho Chi Minh City, before being arrested in Chu Pah commune, Gia Lai province.
According to Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Minister of Public Security, after identifying the perpetrators, the biggest difficulty for functional forces is that the organization of the siege must ensure absolute safety, not affecting the lives of people and officers and soldiers on duty.
At the investigating agency, Pham Thanh Tai confessed that before committing the bank robbery, the group of subjects researched and developed a plan for more than a month, from choosing locations, methods of action, using guns to locations to dispose of motorbikes.
