According to the Ninh Binh Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, the supporting industry sector plays a key role, especially the automotive mechanical industry - the main driving force to attract high-tech and supporting industries.
The orientation for developing supporting industries in the Industrial Restructuring Project of Ninh Binh province clearly states that the province focuses on developing supporting industries for mechanical and manufacturing industries (automobile industry, mechanical processing, spare parts for machinery and equipment); supporting industries for electrical equipment, electronics, and information technology (electronic components, electrical equipment, high-tech products); supporting industries for processing agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products, food and beverages; textiles and footwear (packaging products, locks, sewing threads, sewing threads, cotton wadding, textiles, woven mex, non-woven mex, shoe soles, shoe uppers).
Currently, the province has 97 FDI projects with a total registered capital of more than 1.675 billion USD, from 12 countries and territories. Of which, Korea leads in the number of projects (45 projects) and ranks second in investment capital (450.18 million USD, accounting for 27% of total FDI capital). FDI projects have made an important contribution to the strong development of the supporting industry, especially in the fields of garment, footwear, electronic components and automobiles.
According to the Ninh Binh Department of Industry and Trade, most local supporting industry enterprises are operating stably, providing a large amount of supporting products for key domestic industries and participating in the global value chain. This not only contributes to increasing the localization rate but also promotes the sustainable development of the provincial economy.
