Vingroup Chairman Pham Nhat Vuong currently owns assets of about 34 billion USD (according to Forbes updated on July 2, 2026), putting him in the group of the richest people in the world and continuing to be the richest businessman in Vietnam.
With this level of assets, Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong is currently ranked above many famous billionaires who have been in the richest group in the world for many years.
With 63rd place on the Forbes Real-Time ranking, Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong currently ranks above Lee Jae Yong - the current Chairman of Samsung Group (ranked 69th), Phil Knight - co-founder of Nike (ranked 98th), and many other famous billionaires in the fields of technology, retail and manufacturing.
This is also one of the highest rankings that a Vietnamese businessman has ever achieved in Forbes' global asset rankings.
Notably, the gap between Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong and many international billionaires is increasingly widening after the period when Vingroup's stock of the ecosystem increased sharply. This is also a factor that helps his assets continuously adjust in a positive direction in global rankings.
According to Forbes, the asset value of billionaires is continuously updated based on stock price movements, business ownership ratios, investment deals and many other assets. Therefore, the position of each billionaire can change daily, even hourly when the financial market fluctuates.
Not only Forbes, the Bloomberg Billionaires Index also recognizes Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong as one of the billionaires with the fastest asset growth in Asia recently.
Bloomberg said most of his assets come from shares in Vingroup and VinFast, along with businesses in the ecosystem.
The fact that Vietnamese entrepreneurs have risen to the top group in the world also reflects the trend of more and more Vietnamese businesses with large capitalization scale and being interested by international investors. In particular, VinFast's expansion strategy in the US, European and Asian markets continues to be a factor closely monitored by international media.
According to Forbes, the global billionaire ranking currently has more than 3,000 USD billionaires. To be in the top 100 richest people in the world, businessmen must own assets of tens of billions of USD.
The fact that Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong continuously improved his position shows the significant growth rate of personal assets in the context of the global financial market still fluctuating.
Although the ranking may change according to the diễn biến of the stock market, Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong is still the most prominent representative of Vietnam in international asset rankings.
This is also a rare time a Vietnamese businessman has gone deep into the group of the richest billionaires in the world and surpassed many names that have been familiar for many years.
