Preserving Nguyen Du heritage
Nguyen Du Relic Site is located in Nghi Xuan, Ha Tinh - his hometown. This is an open cultural space for visitors to access the heritage of Nguyen Du - one of the seven famous cultural figures of the world and the tradition of the Nguyen Tien Dien family.
The complex of relics includes a church, a museum exhibition area, a tomb and auxiliary works, forming a space of special spiritual, historical and cultural characteristics. Currently, the exhibition area displays nearly 1,000 artifacts and documents related to Nguyen Du, attracting tens of thousands of visitors each year.

The relic site is ranked as a "Special National Monument", creating a legal basis for investment, preservation and restoration, while orienting the development to become a cultural - tourism destination of Ha Tinh.
The Provincial People's Committee has set a goal of developing the memorial area according to the criteria of "Conservation of origin - Sustainable promotion - Taking tourism as a driving force". The items of relics, landscapes, craft villages, and traditional architecture in the area have been restored to preserve the identity of the Tien Dien region.
According to the Relic Management Board, tourism - cultural activities at the relic site are implemented through exhibitions of artifacts, documents, organizing death anniversaries, commemorative exhibitions, and exhibitions about Nguyen Du's life and works. Many activities are being implemented such as a reading contest for the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Author of the Book of the Author of the Book of the Book of.
The Relic Management Board also applies technology such as QR codes, VR and AR experiences to support visitors in accessing intuitive information. At the same time, coordinate with travel agencies to include relics in tours.
In addition to its role in preservation, the relic has become a space for cultural and historical education, helping to widely disseminate the values of Nguyen Du, Truyen Kieu works and traditional culture. Conservation work also spread through folk arts such as Ca Tru, Vi, Giam, land Kieu, Xam Kieu. When Truyen Kieu was put into music and performed, the work approached many generations and different cultural spaces.
This is the way Ha Tinh preserves the vitality of heritage, spreading Nguyen Du's influence to the younger generation.

Promoting the development of tourism experiences
In the context of Ha Tinh wanting to promote the value of Nguyen Du to develop sustainable tourism, international experience shows that proper investment in heritage space can form large-scale destinations attracting millions of visitors.
In Stratford-upon-Avon, his hometown of Shakespeare in England, welcomes about 2.5-3 million visitors each year according to local government data.
Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, an independent charity organization caring for Shakespeare's heritages, not only preserves houses associated with his life but also builds a series of experiential products such as shakespeare walking tours, art performances, recreating ancient spaces and workshops...
In Russia, the Pushkin National Museum in Saint Petersburg is one of the oldest literary museums in the land of eucalyptus. The museum owns a huge collection of about 200,000 artifacts, documents, souvenirs, and documents about the life of the great poet Alexander Pushkin and the history and culture of Russia in the 18th and 19th centuries.
Every year, about 500,000 visitors visit the Pushkin National Museum, explore thematic exhibitions, literary education programs, stage productions and thematic tours.

These models show that literary heritage, when preserved at its original and expanded into a space for cultural and artistic experiences, can completely become an attractive destination, creating a long-term competitive advantage for tourism development.
This is a suggestive direction for Ha Tinh to continue to perfect the model of exploiting Nguyen Du value, linking conservation with the development of typical tourism products.
According to the Ha Tinh Tourism Association, Ha Tinh has a lot of potential to develop tours and diverse routes for visitors at Nguyen Du Relic Site.
The relic space possesses rich materials to build new products, such as the experience of wearing ancient costumes to the roles of Kieu - Van - Kim Trong in Truyen Kieu, watching Kieu's performances...

Despite many advantages, the locality has not yet formed a unique tourism product associated with Nguyen Du heritage. Partly due to the characteristics of the relic management model, the conditions of local tourism businesses are still limited, leading to a lack of professional investment in experience products.
In particular, Ha Tinh tourism industry has not been able to connect Nguyen Du space with famous tourist routes such as Xuan Thanh - Thien Cam - Huong Tich pagoda, Dong Loc intersection, Cua Lo - Nam Dan (Nghe An)... The lack of regional linkages has caused the potential for building expanded cultural - spiritual tours to not be exploited.
To promote the value of Nguyen Du heritage, Ha Tinh needs to continue to improve tourism products, strengthen connections and invest in unique experiential activities. From there, Nguyen Du Relic Site will not only be a memorial site but also a vibrant cultural destination in the Central region tourism journey.
In 2025, Ha Tinh will organize the "Celebration of the 260th Anniversary of the birth of the Great Sphinx Nguyen Du (1765-2025)". The event took place on the evening of December 20, 2025 at Thanh Sen Square with a special art program.
On this occasion, the locality will organize additional cultural activities such as folk art performances associated with Nguyen Du and Truyen Kieu, exhibitions and displays of publications about Nguyen Du, Truyen Kieu and Ha Tinh culture.
The ceremony aims to honor Nguyen Du's career, educate cultural traditions and national pride, and promote Ha Tinh cultural values to the public and international friends.
