On August 9, information from the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An Province stated that, at the conclusion of the 2023-2024 school year, the education sector evaluated the number of teaching staff who failed to meet the requirements of education and training and the ratio of teaching staff to students as per the regulations.
The shortage of teachers with a large number of teachers affected the management and administration of education quality.
From there, the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An Province proposed that the Ministries, departments, and agencies consider and advise the central authorities to supplement an additional 7,015 teaching staff positions to meet the needs of the 2024-2025 school year.
In particular, the preschool level is 1,688 positions, the elementary level is 2,692 positions; the junior high school level is 1,795 positions, and the high school level is 840 positions (including 220 positions receiving salaries from revenue sources).
In April 2024, the People's Council of Nghe An Province approved the supplementation of 2,187 teaching staff positions for the 2023-2024 school year for the Department of Education and Training, the People's Committees of the districts, cities, and towns.
Accordingly, the preschool block is 1,352 positions; the elementary block is 369 positions; the junior high school block is 441 positions, and the high school block is 25 positions.
Currently, many localities in Nghe An Province are conducting teacher recruitment according to the assigned positions to enter the new school year in a timely manner.
On August 2, 2024, at the meeting to summarize the Steering Committee for Administrative Reform of Nghe An Province for the first six months of the year, the Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, Thai Thanh Quy, assigned the Department of Home Affairs to control the number of teacher recruitment in localities, requiring it to be done quickly and objectively.
