The People's Committee of Van Phu ward (Lao Cai province) has just issued a notice to find the father, mother or relative of a newborn baby boy abandoned in the area.
Initial information, at about 10:30 am on January 30, 2026, at house number 15, alley 5, alley 2, Phan Dang Luu street, residential group No. 2, Van Phu ward, people discovered a newborn baby in a state of being wrapped in a light blue blanket with patterns, wearing a hat and blue clothes, placed in a black tourist bag.
Inside the bag were some items including diapers and children's clothes. Preliminary inspection determined that the baby was male, about 10 days old, weighing about 3kg. At the scene, no papers or information related to the baby's relatives were found.
Immediately after receiving the information, Van Phu Ward People's Committee made a record according to legal regulations, and at the same time handed over the baby boy to the family of Mr. Trieu Van Hieu and Ms. Le Hoang Oanh (residing at the address where the child was discovered) for temporary care and nurturing from 11:30 am on the same day.
According to Van Phu Ward People's Committee, within 7 days from the date of notification, if the child's parents or relatives come to pick it up, please bring personal papers and documents proving the relationship for functional agencies to consider and resolve according to regulations.
After the above deadline, if no one comes to claim it, the Ward People's Committee will carry out procedures for birth registration and related legal procedures for the child according to the provisions of law.
