The formula for making beef shank soaked in fish sauce is not too difficult, but with just a little meticulousness, housewives can easily have delicious dishes to treat guests on Tet.

Accordingly, prepare ingredients including 1kg of beef shank (prioritizing flower corn), 500ml of fish sauce, 300gr of sugar, 2 - 3 garlic bulbs, 5 - 7 chili peppers, 1 small ginger, 1 shallot, 1 - 2 star anise, 1 cinnamon bar and a little pepper...

First, prepare the beef shank thoroughly and then simmer briefly in boiling water to remove all dirty foam and rinse again. Continue to put the beef shank in a pot, add crushed ginger, shallots, star anise and cinnamon. Add more water to cover the beef shank and cook for about 30 - 40 minutes. However, housewives should note that boiling the beef shank too soft will lose its crispness. Then, take out the beef shank and put it in a cold stone bowl to help the meat become firmer.

For soaked fish sauce, add a little sugar to suit your taste and cook over medium heat to dissolve the sugar. When it boils slightly, turn off the heat and let it cool completely. Next, thinly slice garlic and chili, crush.

Put the beef shank in a clean glass jar, pour the fish sauce mixture over the meat and then drop garlic and chili on top. Cover tightly and leave at room temperature for 1-2 days before putting it in the refrigerator for about 3-5 days to enjoy.

When eating, slice the beef shank into thin slices. This dish can be eaten with a sour taste like cucumber, green mango will become perfect for drinking during Tet.
