Many women have difficulty conceiving even though they have watched ovulation, eaten healthy or supplemented with functional foods.
However, a factor that is less noticeable but has a direct impact on fertility is balancing blood glucose, according to hindustantimes.
According to hormonal health expert Tanisha Bawa (excavated at the Institute of integrated Nutrition IIN, New York), irregular fluctuations in blood sugar not only affect energy but also harm egg quality, disrupt hormone balance and increase the risk of miscarriage.
Even with regular ovulation, poor glucose control can cause weak follicle development, unusual ovulation and reduce the ability to successfully clot.
Bawa explains: when blood sugar spikes and drops suddenly, the body will fall into a state of inflammation and oxidative stress, damaging the follicles and obstructing hormone signals.
Dr. Thais Alibadi (a obstetrician and gynecologist based in Los Angeles, Beverly Hills/West Hollywood) added that this condition can also cause high insulin levels, directly affecting maturity and ovulation.
Another common factor is clinical insulin resistance, when cells are less responding to insulin.
The causes are often due to excess fat, lack of exercise, a diet rich in processed foods or health conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
This condition disrupts hormonal balance, reduces estrogen, progesterone and affects the ability to ovulate as well as form nests.
Conversely, when blood sugar is stable, the body can focus on the reproductive process instead of "fighting" inflammation.
This creates a favorable environment for the ovaries and uterus, supports healthy hormone signals and improves the quality of the union in eggs, which is an important foundation for egg development.
To improve, hormonal health expert Bawa recommends combining protein with healthy fats in every meal, reducing added sugars and refined starches, and prioritizing foods with a low glycemic index such as vegetables, quinoa, beans and berries.
A small but effective habit is to walk 10-15 minutes after meals to naturally lower blood sugar.
According to Ms. Bawa, fertility depends not only on egg loss, but also on egg quality and the hormonal environment that the body creates.
Stabilizing blood sugar is the silent key to nurturing motherhood.
