Recently, former football star Le Cong Vinh was invited to become Chairman of the coaching board to manage the professional skills of the first team of Song Lam Nghe An in V.League. However, he refused because he could not arrange the time.
Le Cong Vinh retired after the 2016 season ended. He then became the president of Ho Chi Minh City FC but failed to leave an impression. In recent years, this star has moved to work at a youth football academy.
Recently, he completed his C license taught by the Asian Football Confederation. Cong Vinh said he will continue to study for B, A, and even the highest Pro license, before considering the possibility of trying his hand at coaching.
The marriage of Cong Vinh and his wife Thuy Tien is also of public interest. Married since 2014, the couple has a daughter, affectionately named Banh Gao.
During their 10 years of marriage, Thuy Tien and Cong Vinh have been repeatedly rumored to be on the rocks. However, the couple remains close, occasionally sharing pictures of their home on social media.
Talking about married life, Thuy Tien once said that Cong Vinh is a man of few words and mostly action. He does not let his wife and daughter be at a disadvantage compared to anyone.
Cong Vinh and Thuy Tien currently live in a villa (including a villa and garden) in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City with an area of about 300 square meters.
Of which, both of them use 100 square meters to grow clean vegetables and roots, harvesting them to cook in their free time.
Cong Vinh was born in 1985 in Nghe An, and grew up in the youth team of Song Lam Nghe An. He then played for three other domestic clubs: Hanoi T&T, Hanoi, and Binh Duong. In between, he played twice abroad on short-term loans at Leixoes (Portugal) and Consadole Sapporo (Japan).
At the national level, Cong Vinh joined the national team in 2004 and became a mainstay a year later. In 2008, Cong Vinh and Vietnam won the AFF Cup.
Throughout his career, the former striker scored 116 goals in the V.League. At the Vietnam national team level, the Nghe An player holds the record with 51 goals. In terms of individual awards, Le Cong Vinh has won 3 Vietnam Golden Balls.
At the end of 2024, Le Cong Vinh was nominated by the organizing committee of the 2024 ASEAN Cup (formerly known as AFF Cup) for the list of "Southeast Asian Legends".
