On the evening of November 11, Song Lam Nghe An club announced that coach Phan Nhu Thuat will return to lead the team, replacing Mr. Pham Anh Tuan who has just resigned.
Notably, in the assistant coach team, there is the name of former player Le Cong Vinh along with Pham Van Quyen, Pham Bui Minh, Pham Duc Anh,...
Talking to Lao Dong, Le Cong Vinh said that it was true that he received an invitation from the leadership of Song Lam Nghe An.
According to research, Cong Vinh was invited, but not to be an assistant to coach Phan Nhu Thuat.
Instead, Cong Vinh takes on the role of Chairman of the coaching council of Song Lam Nghe An, a position even higher than the head coach and assistants at the Nghe An team.
The former striker, born in 1985, will be responsible for the first team's expertise and youth training of Song Lam Nghe An.
Le Cong Vinh said that Song Lam Nghe An has just made an offer and the contract between the two sides has not been signed yet. Therefore, Song Lam Nghe An's announcement that Cong Vinh will be an assistant to coach Phan Nhu Thuat on the evening of November 11 is incorrect.
Former player Le Cong Vinh spoke out to deny this information.
"The team's leadership called me to invite me to be the Chairman of the coaching board to manage the professional skills of the first team of Song Lam Nghe An in V.League and also manage youth training. I myself am very honored to receive this invitation, but I also need time to think and arrange my work.
After discussing with my family, due to the urgent time, I cannot arrange my current job in Ho Chi Minh City. Therefore, I probably cannot accept the invitation to return to Song Lam Nghe An to support the team. I hope the management and fans of Song Lam Nghe An will understand me," Le Cong Vinh shared.
"I would like to send my best wishes to Song Lam Nghe An and thank you for always showing me your affection. In the future, if I can arrange my current job, I hope to continue to contribute to my hometown team," the former striker of the Vietnam national team emphasized.
