Recently, Choi Min Sik and Choi Hyun Wook - two actors collaborating in Netflix's newly released Korean drama "Notes from the Last row" - appeared as guests on the YouTube variety show "Pinggyego".
In the program, 64-year-old veteran star Choi Min Sik frankly shared his views on dating culture in the entertainment industry, criticized the trend of considering love affairs as scandals and encouraged young actors to comfortably love.
In the initial conversation, Choi Min Sik praised the acting ability of young actor Choi Hyun Wook, and gave his juniors sincere advice on how to build a long-term career.
He shared: "As a senior, the only thing I want to say to Hyun Wook is to be careful when listening to words like "You are the best" or "You are doing very well".
Don't be complacent just because you are praised by others. You must be stricter with yourself. Only then can you maintain a long-term career, form your own philosophy of life and truly love this profession. Right from the moment you start evaluating yourself based on the reactions of others, there will never be a stopping point.
Choi Min Sik believes that actors need to constantly ask themselves why they chose this profession, what they want to learn from each project and how acting will change their lives. "Only then will people continue to grow," he emphasized.
He expressed hope that Choi Hyun Wook will always maintain his passion and serious attitude towards acting as he is now throughout his career.

The conversation then suddenly switched to the topic of love, when Choi Min Sik said that he also wanted his junior to enjoy dating.
The veteran actor encouraged: "I hope Hyun Wook saves love. Just date as much as you want.
Choi Min Sik expressed his frustration about the fact that celebrity relationships are often viewed negatively. He said: "When you are young, everyone is in love. But every time you date, you are seen as being involved in a big scandal. Why do people have such a negative view of young men and women in love?".
Hearing that, MC Yoo Jae Suk showed sympathy, saying he understood why Choi Min Sik felt disappointed, after witnessing many young artists having to endure harsh public scrutiny of their personal lives.
Finally, Choi Min Sik affirmed simply but decisively: "People need to know how to love. As long as they don't do anything wrong, there's no problem".
His statements are receiving agreement from many audiences, and at the same time rekindling discussions about the pressure that celebrities face when their personal love affairs are made public.
Meanwhile, the 6-episode series "Notes from the last row" starring Choi Min Sik and Choi Hyun Wook was just released on Netflix on June 26.
