Novak Djokovic defeated Spanish star Carlos Alcaraz 4-6 6-4 6-3 6-4 in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Australian Open on the afternoon of January 21.
The Serbian took on Alcaraz in a tense match that lasted three hours and 37 minutes, but many people decided to stay until dawn to watch.
The 37-year-old's post-match interview took place at around 1 a.m. local time. As he spoke, he noticed that his daughter Tara and son Stefan were still sitting in the front row of the players' box, along with his wife Jelena.
When asked by reporters about his good performance despite injury at the Australian Open, he lost focus.
“Sorry, I heard your question. But I'm surprised my kids are still here. I love you and thank you for coming to support me. But when are you going to bed? The family doesn't want me to talk about them, so let's get back to tennis."
Hearing her father's reminder, daughter Tara immediately tapped the watch on her wrist, implicitly urging Djokovic to quickly finish the interview so they could go home and rest. The comments section of the video on the tournament's homepage was filled with compliments for the sweet moment of this star family.
After answering, Djokovic hugged his children and carried Tara on his shoulders with a big smile as he returned to the tunnel leading to the locker room area.
This is the 12th time he has reached the semi-finals of this tournament. Djokovic's next opponent is Alexander Zverev. With the support of former world number 1 Andy Murray as a coach, Djokovic has maintained a stable performance despite injuries.
