As Tet comes, like many Vietnamese families, Doan Hai My and Doan Van Hau are also busy preparing for the first day of the new year.
In the bustling atmosphere, the beauty from Hanoi bought cakes, jams, chestnuts, red apples... She also bought ao dai to wear on Tet, clothes for her first son and family members.
"When I lived with my parents, I often bought lipstick, powder, and clothes. Now, I buy clothes for my husband and children, and buy candy and Tet gifts for my family. Everything is more about my family than myself," Doan Hai My confided.

After getting married, the life of the Top 10 Miss Vietnam 2020 beauty has changed a lot. Hai My spends a lot of time and energy on her husband and children, especially on important holidays.
This year is Doan Hai My's second Tet at her husband's house, after getting married to Doan Van Hau in November 2023. Unlike the first time, in the spring of At Ty 2025, Doan Hai My's family had a new member - baby Minh Dang (nicknamed Lua).
Previously, the son of Doan Van Hau and his wife was born in May 2024. Up to now, the first "noble son" is 8 months old, strong enough to follow his parents back to his hometown for Tet.
"This year is very special and important because this is the first time I and Lua have been able to return to my husband's hometown in Thai Binh to celebrate Tet and visit his family and relatives. This is also my second year as a daughter-in-law, and everything is probably very new to Lua," Doan Hai My shared.

When returning to her husband's family for Tet, Doan Hai My has the additional responsibility of a daughter-in-law. She, her mother-in-law, aunts and uncles gather together to prepare meals or clean up and wash dishes. Although busy, everything happens in a happy atmosphere, everyone supports each other.
The beauty said: "The most obvious difference between celebrating Tet in my husband's hometown and celebrating Tet with my parents is that I get to enjoy the atmosphere of the whole family wrapping banh chung together.
What I like most is wrapping banh chung and watching the pot of banh chung late at night with everyone. That moment has the atmosphere of Tet.
I even find that the time spent baking cakes feels more "Tet" than the time spent preparing and shopping for cakes and fruits to celebrate Tet with my family."
