On August 11, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province said that the unit has a plan to implement population work in the new situation. In particular, the province aims to improve population quality, associated with socio-economic development.
The goal by 2030 is that Khanh Hoa province will achieve a replacement fertility rate of 2.1 children per woman, the sex ratio when giving birth is under 109 boys/100 girls; 90% of men and women are consulted and have health check-ups before marriage; reduce child marriage by over 50%, limit close-range marriage.
Khanh Hoa also set a target of 70% of pregnant women being screened for at least 4 common birth diseases; 90% of newborns being screened for at least 5 birth diseases.
All elderly people have health insurance cards, are managed for health care at home, community or centralized facilities; the average height of 18-year-old youth is 168.5cm (male) and 157.5cm (female). The entire population is registered and managed in a unified population database.
To achieve the goal, Khanh Hoa province will strengthen the leadership of Party committees and authorities, promote communication on population; synchronously implement policy and legal solutions; strengthen inspection and supervision.
The Department of Health is assigned to preside over and coordinate with agencies to develop annual plans, train professional staff, and complete the population data information system after merging administrative units at all levels.
