Poor living space, many workers are afraid of getting married

Thanh Thúy - Mỹ Linh |

The lack of cultural and sports playgrounds, entertainment areas and parks in areas with a large concentration of workers is making many workers, especially workers staying in the Central region, afraid to start a family.

The western area of Da Nang City is home to 8 universities, colleges and 5 large high-tech parks and industrial parks (IPs) of the city. Not to mention, this area is being planned to build 2 new industrial parks and industrial clusters.

While other districts in Da Nang City have been planned to invest in building at least 2 district-level Cultural and Sports Centers, in Lien Chieu District, there is only one center serving a large number of workers and students for entertainment.

"Currently, the number of playgrounds for children and teenagers in the district is still small compared to actual needs. Lien Chieu is a district with a large number of workers, students coming to work, study and live, so the need for a community playground is very high," said Mr. Huynh Thanh Binh, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Lien Chieu District.

In Suoi Dau Industrial Park, Cam Lam District, Khanh Hoa Province, there are more than 10,000 workers working in factories. Although there is a Suoi Dau Industrial Park Workers' Culture and Sports Center, it has only been operating until now when there are programs organized by the Industrial Park - Economic Zone Trade Union. There are no regular and methodical cultural and sports playgrounds, so they cannot attract workers to play and exchange culture after work. In industrial clusters in Khanh Hoa province, the arrangement of entertainment and sports facilities for workers is currently almost non-existent.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai - a worker at a garment company in Khanh Hoa is 30 years old and unmarried. In fact, at her company, there are still quite a few unmarried people.

According to Ms. Mai, one of the first reasons is the lack of opportunities to make friends when the time is mainly at the factory, the labor force is focused on productivity, so when resting, the only joy is the phone and social networks on it.

Sharing at the topic of innovating female workers, population work, children's families in union members, employees, Ms. Tran Thu Phuong - Deputy Head of Propaganda -Training Department, VGCL emphasized that the situation of women choosing unmarried, separated, divorced, difficult to care and parenting ... tends to increase. The trend of low and low fertility levels is concentrated in urban areas, where socio -economic development, high urbanization in Ho Chi Minh City is the first locality to have the first age of the first average marriage over 30 years old.

According to Ms. Phuong, most of the workers and employees (employees) in the Industrial Park, the export processing zone is less likely to exchange and make friends, you should have difficulties in finding you to get married and most of you stay in the inn, lack of suitable children's children, so it is still worried and afraid to get married. The increase in divorce and domestic violence tends to affect the construction and family development according to family standards in the country's industrialization and modernization period.

Currently, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor is organizing activities suitable for each target group such as: Club activities, forums, seminars, competitions, conferences to commend union members' families, outstanding workers overcoming difficulties... especially paying attention to the families of direct workers, in order to contribute to building a warm, prosperous, progressive, happy and civilized union members and workers' families.
