In 3rd year of university, still not knowing what they want, many students worry about the future

In the 3rd year of university, knowledge is more difficult, the pressure is greater, but what worries many students the most is not knowing what they really want.

Entering the 3rd year, when the curriculum became increasingly specialized, many students began to wonder if they had chosen the right major, the right school. Some people struggled with subjects, some people looked at their friends and already had orientations and felt that they were lagging behind.

A student preparing to enter his 3rd year of university shared that after 3 semesters, he failed 3 subjects. If in the first year, feeling discouraged was considered normal when not familiar with the new environment, then in the second year, everything still stopped at the "temporary" level.

By the time of preparing to study the major, the confusion began to become clearer.

I don't know if I can pursue my current major or not, nor am I sure I have chosen the right school and major. What is more worrying is that I have not yet determined what I really want.

This is probably one of the quite common forms of crisis in their twenties: not necessarily failure, but also not finding a clear enough direction to believe in.

Pressure sometimes does not come from family or school but from their peers.

When seeing friends studying stably, some have identified goals, some have achieved what they once wanted, the feeling of "being standing still" easily appears.

Having friends but still feeling isolated is also a paradox that many young people experience. It's not that there are no people by their side, but that they don't know who to share their confusion with.

It is worth mentioning that the older they get, the easier it is for young people to remember the years of middle school and high school. In the past, they only wanted to grow up quickly to be able to decide their own lives. When they entered university, they realized that those seemingly ordinary days were a time of carefreeness and memorability.

But year 3 is still not the end point of an option.

A person who has not determined their future at the age of 20 does not mean that person is failing. University is also not a path that forces everyone to know exactly where to go right from the first year.

The important thing is probably not to try to find an answer quickly, but to start to understand yourself more seriously: what I am capable of, what makes me want to try and what I really want to pursue.

Because sometimes, the most regrettable thing is not choosing the wrong thing, but many years have passed and still not stopping to ask myself "What do I really want?".
