The fire broke out in Georgetown, Penang at around 6:40 p.m. (local time) on Monday (December 16). 100 firefighters were mobilized to extinguish the fire. The fire was brought under control after about an hour. Fortunately, there were no casualties, according to Harian Metro News.
Steven Morgan, a 50-year-old resident of the neighborhood, said he heard a loud explosion as the fire broke out, followed by dense smoke.
He rushed into the house to save his wife and children without having time to bring important documents and papers related to work.
The story spread by netizens in Malaysia about this fire is the pet dog's rescue. Accordingly, a woman had just returned from work and saw her house on fire, her pet dog trapped inside. Without hesitation, she rushed into the burning house to save her pet.
In an interview with the press, the woman shared that when she learned that her dog might still be trapped in the house, she decided to rescue him.
"Luckily, it was alive and we were not injured," she said.
The woman's brave action was praised for her courage and love for dogs.
"It was a blessing that the dog was rescued in time," a Facebook user shared their heartbreaking experience after losing their pet.
Another opinion commented that dogs are lucky to have such a caring owner.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. People believe that the fire originated from a house with a warehouse for storing and repairing electronic devices.
The fire forced 21 people to evacuate from this residential area because their houses were burned down. 5 families were provided with temporary accommodation while the consequences of the fire were being investigated.
