Appearing in the program "Newlyweds", the couple Nguyen Thanh Duc (born 2001, digital content creator) and Mai Thuy Quynh (born 1997, accountant) quickly attracted the attention of the audience thanks to their love story that was both ordinary and humorous.
According to sharing, the fate of Mr. Duc and Ms. Quynh started from a volunteer garbage collection group. At that time, Mr. Duc worked as a shipper, and Ms. Quynh was in charge of operating the group. In the first day of participating in garbage collection in a black canal, Mr. Duc paid attention to the small but enthusiastic girl who was not afraid to wade through mud. Conversely, Ms. Quynh was also impressed with the tall, tattooed guy who chose to do good deeds.
From a few messages asking about washing clothes with mud, the two gradually talked more, then made appointments to go for drinks, go to the movies. The most memorable was the first horror movie screening. "I thought sitting near a horror movie-watching boy would make me shy, but unexpectedly Duc shyly approached me. He is more afraid of ghosts than me," Ms. Quynh recounted to the MC in laughter. Instead of becoming a support, Duc was the one who needed to be protected.
After about a month of getting to know each other, Mr. Duc runs more than 20 km every day to take Ms. Quynh to work. Because of a tight schedule and garbage collection sessions having to stay up from 3-4 am, Ms. Quynh suggested letting her boyfriend stay at home. From "staying for a few days", Mr. Duc officially... stayed as a son-in-law for nearly a year. The surprising thing is that the tattooed guy won the hearts of his parents-in-law thanks to his clean personality, diligently doing housework, proactively repairing electricity and water and cleaning neatly.
However, their love was also not without storms. At one point, just after a conversation between Mr. Duc and his father-in-law, Ms. Quynh suddenly became worried about the age difference, became self-conscious and proactively demanded a breakup as a "test". Mr. Duc chose to remain silent and return, but the next morning he still appeared on time to take Ms. Quynh to work. It was that calmness that made Ms. Quynh realize that she still could not leave this man.
After less than a year of knowing each other, the couple registered their marriage in April 2025, the engagement ceremony took place in June and the wedding in November of the same year. Although they lived together for quite a long time before marriage, the two still maintained mutual respect.
In the "expose congress" section, Ms. Quynh frankly shared that her husband's biggest bad habit is focusing too much on work, to the point that even if his wife says ten words, he doesn't listen. On the contrary, Mr. Duc said that his wife often leaves things in a mess, taking them anywhere and not returning them to the old place. Ms. Quynh also hopes that her husband will soon quit smoking to ensure the health of the family.
